| I was taught to stitch on the Monk's Cloth
from the raw edge to the raw edge, but now I am being told this is
wrong? Is there only one way to stitch? |
-- Because Monk's Cloth has the Floats going in both directions you can stitch your project in either direction. Most people stitch from selvage to selvage if they are making an afghan, and from raw edge to raw edge if they are making a table runner or sofa blanket. The choice is up to you. |
| On a baby afghan, I have not seen many with
fringe? Is there a reason for this? |
-- Yes, there is a reason for not putting fringe on a baby afghan. Babies and young children can inhale and swallow the fringe causing serious breathing problems and in some cases even suffocation. It is advisable to either use ribbon binding or hem a baby afghan.
